On Tuesday, September 03, 2024, the anime community stirred after watching the final trailer of the most anticipated show, Dragon Ball Daima. Dragon Ball Daima was Akira Toriyama’s last major project before passing on March 1, 2024. The series will also bring out the old-classic theme that fans will cherish for a long time.

As the trailer came out, fans took over ‘X’ (Formerly known as Twitter) to show their respect for the Dragon Ball creator, Toriyama. He was one of the best mangakas of all time, his work inspired many others and will continue to inspire. The new Dragon Ball series will honour the Mangaka journey as his last project. Dragon Ball Daima is not the continuation of Dragon Ball Super that came in 2015. It is all new and not an adaptation of the manga.

The upcoming anime series revolves around Goku and his friends, who transform into children due to a conspiracy. To make things right, they travel to a new place where demons rule. The series promises great adventure, beautiful animation, and top-notch background music.

What Is Dragon Ball Daima?

Dragon Ball Daima is an upcoming anime series from the Dragon Ball franchise that was created by Akira Toriyama and produced by Studio Toei Animation. The series will be released on Friday, September 11, 2024, and will follow the adventure of Goku and his friends. Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends turned to children. And they have to travel to a new world to make things right.

The English meaning of Daima is Evil, and the kanji used (大魔) means “great” and “demon/magic”. Thus, it is safe to say that the upcoming anime will follow the adventures in the demonic world.

According to Toei Animation and the anime series director Daniel Castañeda reveals that the Dragon Ball Daima will consist of 20 episodes.

Cast

As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding the cast and crew of the anime. The only confirmed cast member for the upcoming anime is the Legendary Voice Actor of Son Goku, Masako Nozawa.

Nozawa has been the voice behind Goku since the very beginning, and her talent extends to many beloved characters like Gohan, Gotenks, Goku Black, Gogeto, Bardock, and Goten.

Beyond Dragon Ball, she has also voiced many popular characters like Doremon from Doremon and Kureha from One Piece. We can expect to hear some familiar voices in the upcoming series. Toei Animation surely will bring some familiar voices.

Dragon Ball Daima Trailer

On September 3, 2024, Toei Animation, the Studio behind Dragon Ball Daima, launched its final trailer on YouTube.

The trailer showcased scenes of Goku and his friends transforming into younger versions of themselves with shock on their faces. The Dragon Ball Daima trailer suggested that Goku and his friends travel to the Demonic world to make things right. We don’t know anything about the plot, but the animation is pretty good.

As far as the trailer goes, the opening theme song titled, “Jaka Jyaan,” feat. C&K was produced by Grammy award-winning producer Zedd. Later, it was revealed that Zedd has a massive from his youth. He says,

The new trailer immediately follows the announcement of Dragon Ball Daima’s premiere date. Fans can watch the anime’s complete episode on Crunchyroll after its release on October 11, 2024. The series will be the final chance for the fans to show their respect for Akira Toriyama.

The series will debut in October, nearly 40 years after it debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. Currently, you can rewatch Torimiya’s previous works such as Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super online.
