There are many crime-thriller stories explored in the Hollywood cinema. But nothing comes close to what My Father’s Murder in Greece offers. Directed by Colin Theys, My Father’s Murder in Greece is about a young blonde girl named Allie (Cass Huckabay) and her trip to Greece.

Years after her parents’ divorce, Allie finally meets her father, George (Vaggelis Papadakis), and shares her plans. Like most father-daughter duos, Allie and George spend quality time together and share causal banter.

However, one night, her world is turned upside down after seeing his father lying on the ground, dead. While she is in a state of shock, the killer from behind tries to attack her. After some effort, the killer is able to render Allie unconscious.

During her conversation with Costas (Nikolas Makris), the police officer, Allie, suspects Theo (Giorgos Hatzikiriakos) of killing her father.

It makes sense for Allie to suspect Theo for the crime based on his history with George and their early conversation. But this is enough to suspect a person, especially blood-related. Even if we assume that Theo is the killer, what caused him to kill his brother? Let’s connect all the dots and bring the truth.

The film picks up with Allie in Greece, reuniting with her father after a long time. This is her first time meeting her father, George, after her parent’s separation. After seeing her father, Allie’s face lights up with a smile, and she feels joy with him. Although George may not be a perfect husband, he is definitely a supportive father to his daughter.

However, this would not have been possible if Allie’s mother, Catherine (Maeve Quinlan), had not allowed her to go to Greece. Thankfully, she did, and Allie is with her father a long time after.

On arriving at the home, Allie is welcomed by her grandmother, Yiayia (Margarita Loumaki). She is delighted to meet his granddaughter. And so Theo, Allie’s uncle and George’s brother.

The ugly family drama unfolds at dinner when George and Theo argue about their past. Theo blames George for the things he has lost in his life, while George mentions that he has a good reason for leaving the family. The dinner table conversation becomes more ugly when George brings up the topic of Iris (Natalia Dragoumi) and blames Theo for stealing her from him.

Allie, who had never heard the name Iris before, was equally curious about her relationship with her father. And why was her uncle Theo, whose name she never heard before, blamed for stealing? Trying to clear things up with George at the dinner table,

Theo mentioned that he isn’t into Iris and is always there for his family. Trying to clear things up with George at the dinner table, Theo mentioned that he isn’t into Iris and is always there for his family. However, George didn’t understand him and left the family.

At night, while on the phone with her mother, Allie hears a strange sound that may be coming from outside of the room. At first, she thought her father was making the sound, but it was not. So she moves toward the direction of the sound, only to find her father lying on the ground, dead.

However, things get tense when the killer tries to attack Allie. In an attempt to protect herself, Allie slashes her arm with a knife. As expected, in the next moment, Allie found herself lying on the ground, unconscious.

As police arrived at the scene, Costas questioned Allie about the incident — she mentioned that Theo was responsible for her father’s murder. She mentioned seeing Theo in the room. Moreover, he has his reasons to do so.

Is Theo A Murder Of George?

A terrified Allie tries to convince Costas that she saw Theo in the room and that she had stabbed him with her climbing knife. However, to prove her point, she has no evidence. Furthermore, investigating officer Costas mentioned that his fellow officers searched the place and found nothing.

Allie tells Costas that he also noticed Theo’s rude behavior last night. However, Costas rejected her claim and mentioned that he saw him leaving.

Her grandmother also takes the side of a police officer and mentions that Theo and George don’t get along, but he didn’t do this to his own brother. Everyone raises their hand to believe Allie and her baseless claim. Now, she has to start investigating on her own and uncover the truth. Meanwhile, the report claimed that George died of a heart attack.

Disbelieved, Allie asked Costas to share the contact information of the Chief Medical Examiner. She can’t believe anyone who calls themselves an expert after making an error in the report. The report claimed that George was still married, which isn’t.

Allie even starts suspecting her father’s friend Costas in the crime. For Allie, everyone is on the raider of her father’s murder. However, things get far more interesting after she goes to her old family fishing boat. While looking for the evidence, Allie meets Andreas (Alexandros Theodoropoulos). The boy has been working for Theo for years but still hasn’t any idea where he is.

However, during her second visit to Andreas, things get pretty interesting. She mentioned Theo was the one who killed her father by poisoning and came back to see he was dead. Her father’s friend Costas, an investigator, was involved in the murder. Allie can’t believe anyone, so she asks Andreas to help her find Theo. Andreas agreed to help and they went to search Theo.

While searching for Theo, Andreas, and Allie find another boat in the ocean that may contain Theo. Andreas says that he should go first and check if everything is okay. However, when she received no response, Allie became nervous and called Costas to inform him of her situation.

Allie gets into a boat and meets Theo, who is surprised by her sudden appearance. Meanwhile, Andreas came from behind and hit Theo on the head. While having a conversation, Andreas shows Allie the bottle that contains poison.

While having a conversation, Andreas shows Allie the bottle that contains poison. Due to this, she starts thinking that this is the one Theo used to kill her father. However, he later notices that Theo’s hand appears uncut, which means he is not the murderer. If not Theo? Then you can murder her father.

My Father’s Murder In Greece: What Happened At The End?

George lost his life the same night he fought with his brother, Theo. While every dot is turning toward Theo, Allie tries to convince Costas that Theo is the murderer who killed her father. She further states that Theo had every reason to kill George.

Despite her strong suspicion of Theo, Costa and her grandmother don’t believe her. Later, her grandmother claimed that the brothers could fight, but no one killed each other. So she decides to solve the mystery on her own.

Her search for Theo leads her to Andreas, a guy working for Theo. With the effort of both, they soon track down Theo and bring him to the police. However, the person Allie believes was a murderer is not a murderer.

On the other hand, Catherine teams with Costas to find the truth about George’s murder. This time, Costas decides to help Catherine only because he sees the Married status on George’s report when he was divorced.

So, Catherine and Costas went to the coroner’s office to find the truth.  Suddenly, he feels something fishy and that Catherine and Allie are in danger. Costas suggests to leave the place without informing anyone, not even him. However, before he can uncover the truth, someone comes from behind and chokes him in the car.

On the other hand, Catherine, Allie, and Andreas leave for his boat. On their way, Allie stops them near the church and argues to learn about her stepmom. Inside the church, Allie and her mother are shocked to know that George is married to Iris.

After understanding who is behind all this, Catherine and Allie are shocked to see Iris outside the church. As Catherine and Allie attempt to hide from Iris, she approaches their car with a gun. Soon, a cat-and-mouse race begins when Catherine and Allie try to run away from Iris while she chases them.

At last, Allie understands that the master behind all this is her father, George. They discover him alive, carrying a phone to track their movements. In order to protect them from Iris, George takes them to his father’s old house. Explaining, that he is hiding in this place from Iris for a week.

Later, George explains the reason for his fake death only to protect Allie from Iris.

During the final moment of My Father’s Murder In Greece, Andreas puts the poison in George’s tea, causing him to suffer from a heart attack. While talking to George, Andreas explains that he is a son of George. During his final moment, George tries to protect his family by tossing hot tea at Andreas, while Allie smoothly grabs the knife and stuck into his hand.

Soon, Iris comes to help her son, and they run to catch them. Andreas is trying to stab Allie with the knife but soon falls from the cliff of the mountain. Before falling from a cliff, he grabs Allie, causing her to fall, but she manages to grab the cliff. Thanks to her climbing skills, Allie manages to climb to the top in no time and save her mother from Iris. At last, Thoe came with the police arresting Iris and having a happy ending to the film.
