Who Is Michael Pearson?

Born in America, Michael Pearson won the Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford. However, he never finished his education and never went home because he found his way to get rich. The Gentlemen: What Makes Michael Pearson Want To Sell His Successful Weed Business?

When telling Raymod about Michael ‘Mickey’ Pearson, Fletcher explains that Mickey was born clever but poor. He won a chance for a better future, but despite attending Oxford, he never completed his education or returned home. Instead, he started selling weed to his friends, and he was good at it.

After years of hard work and violence, Mickey built his empire. As he reached middle age, Mickey wanted to retire from the business.

He found a potential buyer in the form of Mattew. Although Mickey and Mattew had previously done many small deals, Mickey was now ready to sell his entire weed business, including all the technology, for 400 million British pounds.

When asked, Mickey revealed his real reason for selling to Mattew: his hands weren’t clean, and he believed that a business like weed needed a new face with a clean past, which he felt he did not have.

The Gentlemen: What Happened To Mattew In The End?

Matthew appreciated the tour of Mickey’s weed business but wasn’t willing to buy it at Mickey’s price. The business’s value dropped from 400 to 130 million British pounds due to an incident at one of Mickey’s farms.
