Released in 2024, Megamind and the Doom Syndicate was the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster hit Megamind, which quickly became a fan favorite due to the beautiful storyline, incredible voice actors, and theme. However, the same cannot be said for Megamind and the Doom Syndicate.

The film begins two after the events of Megamind (2010) when Megamind successfully defeats the Titan and saves the city. His heroic act makes him the new hero of Metro City. However, after getting betrayed by Megamind, their leader, the Doom Syndicate, decides to activate phase two built by Megamind.
To stop The Doom Syndicate from launching Metro City to the Moon, Megamind has to build a new team to deal with his old team. However, his resources are limited, and his best friend, Ol’ Chum (formerly Minion), leaves him for a better future.
But after understanding his former boss’s circumstances, Ol’ Chum decides to help him against The Doom Syndicate.

A founding member of The nDoom Syndicate, Megamind is a former villain who turns into a hero. Other than him, Lady Doppler is the only girly member of The Doom Syndicate, an evil persona that can control the weather at him. Lord Nighty-Knight is another crucial member who can control the darkness. His character design and voice is nearly similar to Batman. The most idiotic member of The Doom Syndicate is Pierre Pressure. His power is hypnosis. The last is Behemoth, a giant lava-like creature. It is nearly similar to DC Clayface.
What Happened Between Megamind And Ol’ Chum?
The film begins with the Megamind breaking the fourth wall and giving a quick recap of his superhero origin. After the city’s only superhero, Meter Man, decides to take a break from his heroic work, Megamind takes a step and controls the city. However, after getting bored without any challenge, Megamind creates his own opponite in the form of Titaan.
After his creation went against him and became a threat to the city, Megamind, with the help of Ol’ Chum (Minions), defeated the Titan and saved the Metro City.
Two days after his battle with the Titan, Megamind got into another Heroic act against the Go-Fish gang. After the tag of war with the Go-Fish gang, Megamind and Ol’ Chum manages to stop them from stealing. Not receiving appreciation for everything he has done so far, Ol’ Chum decides to leave Megamind and find a new boss.
Who Is The Leader Of The Doom Syndicate?
The Doom Syndicate is an evil organization founded by Megamind, and its members are Lady Doppler, Nighty-Knight, Behemoth, and Nighty-Knight. Their objective is to rule the Metro City. However, after the Megamind breaks the prison, he leaves a leader behind. For a long time, all members of The Doom Syndicate thought they were their leaders. In fact, there’s not a leader.
Talking about the Megamind, he does not care about anything more than himself. And the same can be said for his former teammates, who he doesn’t respect. Even asking about the leader frequently, Megamind simply dodges it.
What Is The Phase Two Plan?
After breaking the prison, The Doom Syndicate went straight to Megamind’s location. They want to congratulate Megamind for fooling the city by making them believe that he is the city’s hero. While talking about the time to activate Phase Two of the plan, Roxanne Ritchie asked Megamind about the plan. To which Megamind said he wanted to launch Metro City on the Moon. His plan involved building rockets beneath the city to generate enough firepower to take the city to the Moon. It is Phase Two of his plan.
Why The Doom Syndicate Went Against Megamind?
While trying to capture every member of The Doom Syndicate in Porta-Prision, Megamind unravels his true intention for them. Little does he know the technology he has used to capture them will not last long and creates problems for him.
Due to the malfunctioning of his Porta-Prision, all The Doom Syndicate members escaped and tried to kill him. Lady Doppler begins to feel that Megamind has died from her attack. Thus, the Metro City is theirs. That’s when they decided to use the Phase Two plan of Megamind.
Megamind And The Doom Syndicate Ending
After learning about the little secret of Megamind, The Doom Syndicate go a rampage and tries to kill him. When they try to kill him, Megamind finds an opportunity to save himself by flying with his beloved chair. However, while Megamind is in the air, Lady Doppler uses her superpower to kill him. And soon, she decides to use Phase Two to take on the city.
Megamind, on the other hand, accepts his defeat. However, after putting some sense in Megamind’s mind, he decides to ask his old buddy for a favor to defeat The Doom Syndicate.
As soon as Ol’ Chum enters the air vent, the alarm sounds. Ol’ Chum manages to escape all possible traps with his quick thinking and incredible plan.
On the other hand, Megamind is dealing with The Doom Syndicate, throwing tennis balls at them. Believing his intelligent fish could do the job. However, he did not know that the Fish-Gang was also in the launching station. Because of this, after successfully clearing all the defenses, Ol’ Chum gets stopped by Fish-Gang.
However, after some tug of war with the Fish-Gang, Ol’ Chum finally manages to hit the button. Due to this, Metro City started coming to the earth’s crust very fast. If this continues, Metro City will see no more.
Megamind understands the consequences and asks Ol’ Chum to do something. But a little bit he does not know that Ol’ Chum lost his suit and was outside without water.
Later, Megamind ordered Polly 227 to launch Operation Parakeet. After receiving an order from Megamind, Polly 227 went straight to the Ol’ Chum and saved him from dying.
With his mind and the help of his friends, Megamind defeats all the members of The Doom Syndicate. Thus, conclude Megamind and the Doom Syndicate.
